For Srila Bhakti Vaibhava Puri Goswami Maharaj Centennial Ceremony

My Siksha-Guru, His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Vaibhaba Puri Goswami Maharaj is a most important personality in spreading the message of Mahaprabhu around the world. I have seen his personal nature of showing due respect to all and especially amongst the Vaisnavas.

In 1992 once Srila Maharaj came to meet with my Spiritual Master, His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Pramode Puri Goswami , founder President of Sri Gopinath Gaudiya Math at Mayapur.  At that time I witnessed Srila Maharaj  honor my Spiritual Master whole heartedly and asked about the process to reach our ultimate goal of life, Prema-Bhakti (Divine Love). It was a very nice conversation between the both of them. Once I also heard a conversation from a VCD between Srila Maharaj , my Spiritual Master and His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Vedanta Swami Prabhupada, founder President of ISKCON.  According to ISKCON’s Archive information this conversation happened on October 1977, few days before Srila Bhakti Vedanta Swami Maharaj’s physical departure from the mortal world. In this conversation Srila B.V. Swami Prabhupada expressed his following humility towards his Godbrothers. In brief Srila Swami Prabhupada told them that out of his false ego he was running behind name and fame and in doing so committed offenses to all his Godbrothers and used unexpected language towards them.  Therefore he begged their pardon, asking for forgiveness from all of his Godbrothers. At that time Srila B.V.Puri Goswami Maharaj and my spiritual Master together replied: Maharaj your activities are so glorious that you were not running behind name and fame; but actually name and fame was running behind you. Please do not think about your past and see the present fruits of your preaching endeavor, for our Sampradaya. Our beloved Gurudeva, His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Siddhanata Saraswati Goswami Thakur Prabhupada became happy with your entire preaching endeavor. Their entire conversation was in such a humble and respective mood. This event teaches us to keep due honor for all under any circumstances. Our nature should be to gravitate towards the positive side not causing suffering to anyone with our speech.

In the year 2000, a little more than one year after of my Spiritual Master’s physical departure from the mortal world; during Gaur-Dham Parikrama ( seven days before Gaur-Purnima festival) in the evening time; we were coming back from Belpukur Parikrama , at that time I saw Srila Maharaj standing just right on the front gate of his Mayapur temple, Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mission;  as soon as I saw him immediately I offered prostrate obeisance’s. Then Maharaj asked me “how are you and how are your Matha’s running after Srila Gurudeva’s physical departure”. I became astonished by his memory power and sympathy for all the temples of our Sampradaya. His generosity for all devotees was present without discrimination regardless of their different societies.

After this encounter I had the honor to meet Srila Maharaj in several festivals and I noticed at that time Srila Maharaj’s nature was always straight forward in speaking the truth in order to establish pure devotion in our lineage (Sampradaya).

In my last few years preaching in Europe I have visited several of his preaching centers and realized that his disciples are trying their best to follow the principles of their Gurudeva, His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Vaibhav Puri Goswami Maharaj. I am an unworthy Siksha disciple of Srila Maharaj; but today in his centennial ceremony I am offering my handful of flowers to his Lotus-Feet and humbly begging for your mercy in order to carry on the Mission of Mahaprabhu with integrity and purity. Gradually qualifying me to reach the Divine abode, Goloka Vrindavan; in my eternal form, engaging in the service of the Divine couple, Sri Sri Radha-Krishna under the guidance of Guru-Manjari.

Searching for a tiny speck of foot dust from the pure devotees to become qualified to reach Guru-Manjari.

Your unworthy siksha disciple.

(President of Sri Gopinath Gaudiya Math; Sri Mayapur)
